CESL Newsletters

A further pillar of CESL is the Alumni organisation that is considered a cornerstone of the programme as it serves the purpose to create lasting link between the different target groups that have either studied, been trained or conducting research in the frame of CESL and also to CESL itself. It is envisage to organise alumni activities for the divers target groups separately to design events that are of high interest for the individual group but also to mingle the different groups and bring legal professionals with different backgrounds and at different stages of their career together and to create at atmosphere of fruitful exchange.

The alumni network will ensure that the knowledge gained whilst studying, being trained or doing research will be further disseminated and kept up to date by exchange of experiences among the members form China and Europe. The membership will thus develop to an exclusive, dynamic and highly renowned success-enabling brand. The alumni programme will also serve as a job market since professionals can place job offers via the alumni network and will be certain that it will reach the best students that completed a high-level international master programme.

A stable long-lasting network can only exist if a smooth flow of information is ensured. As means of facilitating communication all alumni as well as current students will be given a life-long email address that is easy to memorise. Also, the given lifelong e-mail address achieves a further increase of identification. Besides, a dedicated area for alumni activities will be reserved on CESL website that will contain information on the alumni network for the public but also a password secured site that is only accessible for alumni.

Regular public CESL conferences will be held where topics of current interest in regard to Sino-European legal topics, new legislation or latest developments in the jurisdiction will be discussed and key note speakers will be invited. The experts chosen to give a lecture will be invited and may be selected from among CESL scholars, researchers or alumni. External speakers will also be considered. The alumni can thus participate in the conferences not only as participants but also as experts that they have become after passing CESL programmes. The organisation of regular alumni meetings will also be adjusted to interests of the target groups consisting of former students as well as practitioners and researchers. Further alumni get-together will be organised in the frame of annual graduation festivities.

The necessity to continuously ongoing learning activities cannot be overemphasised and life-long-learning will be one of the themes of the programme. CESL training programmes will thus be open to alumni and discounts will be given to participants that have either completed the Master programme and wish to attend professional training courses or to those who have successfully completed at least three professional training programmes. This serves the purpose to keep the former participants expertise and deepen it throughout their professional career. This effort will be supported by the possibility for alumni to make use of the libraries of each partner even after completion of any CESL course and by preferred admission to the consultancy services of CESL.
