MEIL Elective Courses for Spring Semester 2016

In the 2nd semester of the 2015-2016 academic year, seventy students who study the Master of European and International Law Programme (MEIL) may apply to study the elective courses in CESL partner universities in Europe, which last for 3 weeks to 2 months, including 61 double master’s students from 2014 intake, 6 Chinese MEIL students from 2015 intake and 3 international MEIL students from 2015 intake, accounting for 100% of the total number of students. CESL will pay for the costs of accommodation for Chinese students. In addition, the Chinese students also get an allowance of 6000 RMB to cover flight, insurance and visa costs. Additional expenses have to be paid by the students themselves.

The students studying in Bologna may opt to stay one week longer. This is optional. During this extra week, students are responsible for organizing themselves and covering all costs, including accommodation. Access to the university library will be arranged for self-organized research.

Students shall send signed statement and the photo copy of the passport before 15:00 on January 4, 2016 to the CESL office of Foreign Affairs and Professional Training (office room A402 in the International Exchange Centre). No changes can be made after submitting. A merit-based acceptance process will be initiated to determine which students are placed where. Decision will be made based on the grades CESL students so far received in this year’s MEIL programme (grades published by January 4, 2016).

Those students applying for electives in Bologna who would like to stay one week longer need to be indicate this in the signed statement, so that the time period is clearly noted on the invitation letter.

CESL will announce the placements on January 7, 2016.

Accompanying administration from CESL will be appointed by the co-deans from Beijing for electives in Bologna.
